  • Candidates successfully cleared UG Honours examinations in 2023 and 2024 only are eligible for submitting application.
  • Applications could be submitted only through online as per the instruction of the competent authority.
  • The eligible applicants will have to fill in the form for admission with their percentage of marks(%) of ( Part I, Part II & Part III) obtained in the UG (Honours) course i in annual system of examination; in case of Semester system, they will have to furnish equivalent percentage of marks corresponding to their CGPA obtained..
  • They will have to produce all the original documents (Mark sheet, Certificate etc) at the time of verification.
  • Please be careful while filling up your application form. Error in your application form may lead to rejection.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • All the admission is provisional in nature initially.
  • After verification admission will become final.
  • Date of online admission will be notified in the college admission portal and qualified students will be asked to deposit admission fees.
  • The college authority reserves every right to cancel any admission on reasonable ground.
  • Any student shifts to another institution without prior intimation to the college authority within 7 days from the date of commencement of classes; the admission fees paid will not be refunded as per the rules set by the UGC in September,2020.
  • College authority reserves all right to cancel application on the ground of submitting incomplete, ambiguous or false information in the application form.

As per the order of the Government of West Bengal 80 percent of total intake in each course is reserved for all students of Vidyasagar University and its affiliated or autonomous colleges and rest 20 percent of the intake are open to all(including students of VU affiliated or autonomous colleges).

Hons. in Aquaculture Management / Zoology / Marine Science / Life Science / Bio-Chemistry / Microbiology / Hons. in any discipline of Life Science having Zoology as one of the subsidiary subject/Major Course in Industrial Fish & Fisheries.

Instruction for Calculation of UG Percentage of Marks

Preparation of Merit List

The admission of 80 percent category students in Merit List will be prepared in the following manner:

  • In case of annual system, percentage of marks will be considered on the basis of UG (Hons) marks obtained (Part I, Part II & Part III) taking together.
  • In case of Semester CBCS system, UG (Hons) equivalent percentage of marks converted from CGPA basis to all semesters (Semester I to Semester VI) as per the rule fixed by their respective home institutions.
  • For VU Semester system(CBCS) let CGPA=8.0; the equivalent percentage marks for VU students (as per conversion rule of VU=8.0x 10=80; 7.1x10=71 etc)
  • Similarly, for students of other university, % of marks will be calculated as per the percentage conversion rule fixed by their home university.

GUIDELINES OF THE ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Admissions to all Post Graduate courses for ensuing academic session 2024-2025 will be made online only, through our college website ramnagarcollege.ac.in.
  • All information regarding Admission will be published in the college website. Candidates must check the college website regularly.
  • A candidate must check eligibility and read all the instructions carefully before applying to a course.
  • For application, a candidate must register himself/herself in Ramnagar College Online Admission Portal first. The candidate must keep his/her User Name and Password safely for future reference.
  • User name will be auto generated based on the information provided by the candidate at the time of registration. It will be the short form of your UG University(Short Code) followed by Registration No. followed by year of passing.
  • After successful registration in Ramnagar College Online Admission Portal, the candidate needs to Sign in to the portal by using the User Name and Password to fill up the online application form within the permissible date and time, without which no application will be considered as valid.
  • The candidate needs to fill the basic information in the application form only once. After which he/she can add one or more courses in which he/she wishes to apply.
  • Applications to each course will have distinct Application Number and will treated individually.
  • A candidate must take print out of his/her application form for the courses applied by signing in to the online admission portal of the college using the registered User name and Password. These documents must be kept safely by the applicant.
  • Applications that do not satisfy the minimum eligibility will be rejected.
  • Merit list of all valid applications will be published on the announced date.
  • Admission to different courses will be purely based on merit.
  • Candidates can check their merit rank by signing in to their account in the college portal after publication of merit list.
  • After publication of merit list a selection list will be published containing information of candidates allowed to take admission based on seat availability.
  • Selected candidates can take provisional admission by paying the requisite admission fee for the course within the permissible dates. Failing which the application will be cancelled.
  • The valid candidates who are not selected for admission in the selection list should wait for the next list.
  • After the last date of admission of the published selection list, a new selection list will be published, subject to availability of seats.
  • A candidate will be allowed for admission only once against a particular application number. However he/she will be allowed for admission against his/her other valid application(s) in later stages, if selected.
  • All dates are tentative and subject to change. Any changes in the dates will be notified through the college website only.
  • The college authority reserves right to cancel your candidature if found any mismatch between your application form and your testimonials at the time of verification or at any later stage.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Preparation of Merit List

The admission of 80 percent category students in Merit List will be prepared in the following manner:

  • UG (Hons) final percentage of marks (Part I, Part II & Part III) taken together in case of annual system; or.
  • UG (Hons) equivalent percentage of marks converted to CGPA in case of semester (CBCS) system;
  • In case of tie, marks obtained in the immediate preceding examination ( i.e., HS/equivalent) are to be taken into account for ranking,
  • The policy of Government Order 906 Edn/Estt dated 18.09.1997, the category-wise percentage of reservation seats are: SC-22%; ST-06%; OBC A-10%; OBC B-7%; EWS10%; Fraction of 0.5% or more will be rounded off to the next whole number.
  • Five (5)percent of each category is reserved for differently- disable candidates.
  • One (1) percent of total seats are reserved for sports/cultural quota
  • Preparation of Merit List for Open of All Category (20%) will be followed as per the norms explained in points (a), (b) and (c) as stated above.
